"Beware the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before.
"He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way."
- Bokonon
I cannot urge you strongly enough to read the works of Kurt Vonnegut.

What I've got for you...

Being pals with highly talented people is never easy... All the graphics and more from the creators of RaeComics cult classic Noblesse Oblige
Canada In a last-ditch attempt at being interesting, I flew to Toronto, Canada on April 6th to spend as long as I felt necessary (or had enough money) touring North America... I am keeping a diary on some pages here to save on phone calls to family and friends.
My links to penguin related sites and more !

About me: As a child I read science fiction exclusively. I cannot remember which author was the genesis of this page name, but it's something that's been stuck in me nugget for years - if you read this, Thanks.
Older now, I find that I get practically all of whatever technical mumbo-jumbo my brain needs from working within the IT industry.
On a geographical note, I come from Reading in the UK, where there is a bar called the Purple Turtle. I recommend following this link and finding the picture of Clare - she's Gorgeous !!! (If you read this Clare, although I've had my hair cut, my email address is below and I often visit the London area!).

Since these pages sit within the bookwormy section of fortune city I feel that I ought to post a list of my favorite books. Most are generally irreverant to all that surrounds them, which might say something about me - but probably doesn't...

  • Anything by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. - but especially Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse 5 and Cat's Cradle.
  • DiceMan by Luke Rhineheart (I recommend not reading 'Son of...' cos it's crap).
  • Neuromancer by William Gibson
  • Watchmen by Alan Moore and a plethora of artists - great story, great format.
  • Noblesse Oblige by Chris Reeve, Nick Holten and Clive Savage - the original cause for this webspace.
  • The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy and all it's sequels by Douglas Adams
NOTE: With the exception of KV, the above in no order of precidence.

Having read Douglas Rushkoff's CYBERIA (flamingo books ISBN 0-00-654792-3) and found it be amusing, insightful, entertaining and at times downright apocryphal, what I was hoping to do here was create a handy appendix - a Cyber-bibliography if you will - of links to related sources of interest to readers of this book and Cyberians / Netizens / whatever you call yourself in general.
However I have discovered that I truely cannot be bothered - read the book and find the links for yourself !!!
I have not been able to find any links yet for 'Gone Loco' - designers of the groovy cover.
I recommend looking at Douglas Rushkoff's website - epecially the interviews as they can be both entertaining and give a fair insight into what his various scribblings are about.
